KI 0827 E-mail mailing lists at UiB

A mailing list is a list of recipients (list members) who receive email messages sent to the list's email address.
You can order a new mailing list here. Remember to state the name and email address you want for the list!

Change to new mailing list system

During the autumn of 2024, our current mailing list systems (Mailman, Fixlist, etc.) will be discontinued. All existing mailing lists will be migrated to a new solution which is managed at lists.uib.no.

As a list owner, you receive a mail when your list(s) is moved to the new system. Not all of your lists might be moved at the same time, but it will be specified which lists are moved.

If you own lists you know are not in use anymore, we appreciate a tip about this (see also mail to list owners 07.10.24).

Note this about lists on mailman

The archive function is discontinued. There is no support for archives in the new solution.
The info page for the list will be available at https://lists.uib.no/list.uib.no/info/<listname>
The info page on Mailman will be updated with information about the move.
External administrators/members must (create and) log in with a local account by selecting "Other users" from "Login" at the top right.
