2025-03-10 Reduced capacity in BRITA on Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13

This year's IT-Forum will be held on Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13. BRITA will have reduced capacity on these two days. We will try to handle as many inquiries as we can, but we ask that inquiries that can wait until Friday, or later, be postponed until then.

2025-03-10 Scheduled Network and IT Service Outage on Saturday, March 15

Please be aware that on the upcoming Saturday, 15.03, there will be interruptions in IT services and some networks between 08:00 and 17:00. This is due to planned maintenance and updates on several of our systems. •Upgrading our server park will cause short interruptions in our services between 08:00 and 17:00. •The network at BIO (HiB, building 351) will be reconfigured and will be unavailable from 08:00 onwards. ◦Important: Restart your computer on Monday morning to ensure it recognizes the network changes. If you plan to use the services during this period, we recommend that you save your work frequently. If you experience issues such as your PC freezing or a service being unavailable, we suggest taking a break and trying again later. If you encounter irregularities with your machine, restart it and see if that helps.

2025-03-10 Scheduled IT Maintenance Work on Thursday, March 13

Upgrade/Uninstallation of Zoom We have several older versions of Zoom installed on our UiB client machines. About 20%-30% of the Zoom clients have been used in the last 30 days. These clients will be upgraded to the latest version of Zoom. For the remaining installations, Zoom will be uninstalled. The latest version of the Zoom client can be installed via the "Software Center" for these machines. We are doing this to prevent older and vulnerable versions of Zoom from remaining on the machines. Network reconfiguration BIO2 The network at BIO2 (HiB, buildings 353/354) will be reconfigured and will be unavailable from 16:00 onwards. •Note: Users affected by this change must restart their machines on Friday morning to ensure their machines recognize the network changes.

2025-03-05 The Card Centre will be closed on March 13th

The Card Centre will be closed from 11:00 on March the 13th.

2025-03-03 UiBhjelp unavailable Sunday 16/3

On Sunday 13. March between 10 am (10:00) and 11 pm (13:00), UiBhjelp will be out of service for a periode of about one hour.

2025-02-24 Oracle will be down from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, this coming Thursday, 27th Februar

Oracle will be down from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The most used applications running on Oracle are; Cinema Tickets, Literature Kiosk, Funds and Grants, Reposting Solution for Finance, etc.”

2025-02-24 New application period for the cabins – the summer of 2025

You can now apply for the desired period at the welfare cabins for the summer of 2025, in the period June 22 to August 17: Velferdshytter.

2025-02-21 Issues with EduRoam into UiB

We have had issues using EduRoam at UiB yesterday and today. The issue concerns the use of EduRoam towards UiB. We are working to figure out the problem.

2025-02-17 Issues with making outgoing calls from TEAMS

We are currently experiencing issues with outgoing phone calls from TEAMS. We are working to resolve the issue.

Please be aware that on Saturday, February 15, there will be interruptions in IT services and some networks between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM due to planned maintenance and updates on several of our systems. •Upgrading our server park will cause short interruptions in our services between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. •The network in Realfagbygget will be reconfigured and unavailable from 4:00 PM onwards. ◦Important - please note the following: ◦In connection with the reconfiguration, there will be an information meeting on Tuesday, February 11. ◦For users in the affected floors of the Science Building; restart your computers on Friday morning to apply the network changes. •Due to network work, the following buildings will experience a 15-20 minute network outage: ◦108 – Cultural History ◦134 - Sydneshaugen School ◦203 – Grieg Academy ◦241 - The Academic Quarter ◦309 - Physics If you plan to use the services during this period, we recommend saving your work frequently. Please be aware that on Thursday, February 13, there will be interruptions in IT services and some networks between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM due to planned maintenance and updates on several of our systems. •The network at the Universitetsbiblioteket (University Library), Haakon Sheteligs plass 7, will be reconfigured and unavailable from 4:00 PM onwards. ◦Note: Users affected by this change must restart their computers on Friday morning to apply the network changes. •Printers at HiB will be prepared for an upcoming network reconfiguration. Each of the 20 printers at HiB will experience a 20-minute outage after working hours. This affects Bioblokk A and B as well as the main building. •The network at Haukeland, Alrek Health Cluster, and the Odontologen (Department of Clinical Dentistry) (Årstadveien 17-19) will experience a 15-20 minute outage between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. •Skjemaker will be down for about an hour starting at 3:00 PM. •Due to work on our email system, there will be delays in email delivery between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. •We need to upgrade Oracle, which will cause the following applications to be down from 4:00 PM for a few hours: ◦ID photo ◦Political speeches ◦Student course database (studbase) ◦Mail/package dispatch at transport ◦Development databases for apex applications If you plan to use the services during this period, we recommend saving your work frequently.
