KI 2897 New management system for managed Mac clients at UiB

UiB adopted Intune as an management solution for new Mac clients in the fall of 2023 as part of the security initiative. All existing Mac clients that are not yet using Intune will now also be converted to Intune, see KI 2882. The conversion will take place during the spring and summer of 2025.

A Mac client in Intune is a prerequisite for easy access to UiB's internal resources in the future, both on wired and wireless networks.

Mac clients that have not been converted to Intune will no longer be supported by the IT department from August 15, 2025.

Affected Mac client users will be notified through the Managed Software Center, where the "UiB Tune-In Intune" app will appear as available for installation on the front page.

Users then perform the conversion themselves by selecting "Install". The process is described in detail in this guide: KI 2783. The procedure usually only takes a few minutes.
