How to read the results list?
When you search in Oria, you get a results list with different types of resources. Each result contains information about the type of material, title, creator, and—most importantly—availability. This status tells you whether you can read the resource online, whether it is physically available in the library, or whether it needs to be requested from another library.How do I know what is what in Oria?
Each search result in the list contains an availability statement. It shows whether the material is available in print or digitally, and how you can access the resource.Here are the most common access statuses:
- Available online – The resource is available electronically, and UiB provides reading access. You will either get a direct link to a PDF or other access options (when you open the result in Oria).
- No online access – The resource is not part of the University Library’s collections. However, it may be available at other libraries (can be requested via interlibrary loan) or freely available on the internet.
- Available at… (holding library) – The material exists in the University Library’s physical collections. You can see whether it is available on the shelf, on loan, or needs to be requested. Opening the result in Oria gives more details.
- Not available at UiB – The University Library does not have access, or the resource is not part of its collections. The material can often be requested from another library via interlibrary loan.
Is the full book or article in Oria?
