KI 2838 How to update the reMarkable app

Shows how to easily update the reMarkable app on Windows from the Software Center.
reMarkable frequently sends out updates to the app. Unfortunately, the installation of the update fails due to insufficient permissions to install the update itself.
Before you start Software Center

Start the reMarkable app and let it attempt to update.
Such an update might look like this:

After a few seconds, it will attempt to update but will ask for elevation.
At this step, you click on "No".

Next, you will receive an error message indicating that the update has failed.
Click "Abort" to exit this.

The reMarkable app will make one last attempt to start the update, so here you need to press "No" and "Abort" again.
Start the update from Software Center
  1. Open Software Center from the Start menu.
  2. Go to Installation Status and find the reMarkable app. Click on it.
  3. To start a check for a newer version and install it, click "Repair".

  4. On the message that appears, click "Yes".
  5. After a short while, you will receive feedback that an update check is in progress. If a newer version than the installed one i found, it will be immediately installed in the background.
  6. When the update is complete, you will receive feedback on which version has been installed. Click "OK" to finish.
  7. You can now start reMarbable again from the Start menu, and the new version should be installed.
