KI 3020 UiBfiler

UiBfiler is the University of Bergen’s upcoming solution for document storage, built on the existing collaboration platform Microsoft Teams and file storage in SharePoint. Much of the collaboration around documents already takes place in Teams, and the phase-out of the old shared areas has been actively worked on since 2022–2023.

UiBfiler involves the use of an overarching Team called “UiBfiler” with shared channels for each group/unit/department. Each channel is linked into a teams used by the individual unit.

Files in UiBfiler are automatically assigned a sensitivity label according to the storage guide: “Yellow” (Internal). Sharing outside the organization is technically blocked.

Not all units have an area on UiBfiler. UiBfiler is expected to be implemented from 2026 through a project led by the IT Division.
