KI 3130 Get started with Adobe Acrobat Pro 2024

When a license for Acrobat Pro has been ordered and the license has been assigned to your user account, you will receive an email notification. Do not click the link in the message, but follow the instructions below.
For information on ordering, see KI 2841 How do I get a license for an Adobe program? (Note that the license for Acrobat Pro 2024 is valid for three years, not one year as is common for other Adobe programs)
Summary:
To use Acrobat Pro 2024, you must:
  1. Remove any old versions of Acrobat Pro, and then restart your PC
  2. Install the Acrobat Classic 2024 program from Software Center
  3. Install the Acrobat Classic 2024 license from Software Center
  4. Start the program and log in to the program.
When you receive the welcome email from Adobe, your user has been assigned an Adobe Acrobat Pro license. You should not click "Get Started" to activate the license.


Instead follow this procedure:
Step 1:
Check that no older versions of Acrobat Pro are installed on your computer.

If they are, please contact the IT division to have them uninstalled. (It will not be sufficient to click uninstall, because these managed installations will reappear when your PC is restarted.)
Step 2:
Verify that Adobe Acrobat Classic 2024 is installed. You can do this by opening Software Center, clicking Installation Status, and scrolling through the list of programs. If it is not installed, you must install it from the Software Center. (See KI 2089 How to install software from the Software Center for more information.)

NOTE: If you install Acrobat Pro in other ways, e.g. with a downloaded file from Adobe, we unfortunately have limited possibilities to assist you. 

 
Step 3:
You activate your license on your PC by going to Software Center again, and installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 2024 – License Activation.  

Click the program icon,and then Install. 

The program is the installed.

After a while a message will appear, saying that Pro feartures have been enabled. Click OK in the message box. 

Step 4: 
Open Adobe Acrobat Pro Classic from the Start menu. 


You will be prompted to log in with an Adobe-ID. You should use the email address the license is assigned to. 



Select «Work or school account». 


Approve the login request on your mobile phone.



You should now have access to the Pro features of Acrobat!
