KI 0314 Import and Export - Import - Mac OS X

Guide describing how to import data to your secure desktop.
The following drawing illustrates the method used to export data from your secure desktop. newyork is the name of the secure desktop in the example.

Start by locating the files on your computer you want to import to the secure desktop. Mark the files and choose "Copy X Items" from the menu you get by right-clicking one of the files.

Start Microsoft Remote Desktop to connect to the secure desktop. If you have not already connected to SAFE using Cisco AnyConnect, this needs to be done before starting Microsoft Remote Desktop.

We will use desktop.uib.no for this, so unless you have not already added this PC to Microsoft Remote Desktop, you need to do this now.
Press "+" followed by "Add PC"

Type "desktop.uib.no" and click "Add",

Double-click "desktop.uib.no" to connect.

Enter credentials. Here using one of the versions "uib\username" or username@uib.no" is a good idea. Click continue.

Once connected to desktop.uib.no, start File Explorer.

Double-click Safe Import Export(U:)

Double-click the folder which has the same name as your secure desktop, then click on Import.

Right-click and choose Paste from the menu

The files you copied at the beginning of this guide should now appear in the Import folder.

Within 10 minutes, these same files will be moved to the secure desktop under O:\Import.
