KI 0486 How to make a PowerPoint presentation into a video (MP4)?

If you want to show your presentation as a standalone "movie" (with or without audio commentary) it's easy to create a video file directly from PowerPoint!
1. The easy way: Export your PowerPoint presentation as a video

From the File menu, select Export and Create a Video.
You can choose resolution/quality.
You choose how long you want the video to show each slide/page of the presentation.

When you click Create Video, you will get an ordinary "Save" dialog box to select where you want to save the finished video file. We recommend using MP4 format.

2. Create a custom view, with audio comments

In the Slideshow menu, you can select Record Slideshow.

This feature allows you to record a video of the presentation where you
- select how long each slide will appear
- may record audio commentary
- may include a camera image of yourself.

When you select Record Slide Show, you will get a separate recording window:

When you are ready to start recording, click Record in the upper left.
Then you go through the whole presentation, make comments, change slides, etc.
When you finish the last slide, the window will close and the recording stops automatically.
You can review the recording by opening this window again or before saving (from the save dialog window).

When the recording is complete, you can export the presentation as a video as described above (in paragraph 1).
NB! You must then select "Use recorded timings and narrations" before creating the video:
