KI 0934 E-mail for Android

You can use your UiB e-mail on most common mobile phones and tablets. We recommend using the Outlook app for Android (external link).
Setting up the account in the Outlook application

This is how to set up the account in Outlook on Android
  1. Start the application
  2. Choose Add account
  3. Log on using username@uib.no (students) or firstname.lastname@uib.no (employees)
  4. Choose Work or School account
  5. Type your password
  6. Approve the login
Other e-mail applications

The process is mostly the same for all e-mail applications. This is a rough outline.

Students
  1. Start the e-mail application
  2. Choose Add account
  3. Choose the account type; Office365
  4. Choose Work or School account
  5. Log in using username@uib.no (students) firstname.lastname@uib.no (employees)
  6. Type your password
  7. Approve the login
About step 2
Often there is a plus sign (+) instead of an Add account button. If an account is not already present, then this step is sometimes automatically skipped.

Here is, as an example, a more detailed description on how to set up an account in the default e-mail application on a Samsung Galaxy S20
  1. Start the application.
  2. Choose Office365.
  3. Log in using username@uib.no (students) or firstname.lastname@uib.no (employees).

  4. Choose Work or School account.
  5. Type your password.
  6. Approve the login.
  7. To use the Office 365 account with the e-mail application you will have to approve of and activate our security policy. Read it carefully. Choose abort if you do not want this. Should you choose abort. the account will not be added.
  8. Choose what you want, with regards to settings for synchronization and more.
