KI 1016 Desktop.uib.no (skrivebord.uib.no) now only available with VPN

To improve security, we have limited access to Desktop.uib.no (skrivbord.uib.no). To use the service, you must be connected to the UiB network, e.g. via VPN.

Desktop.uib.no is a service for working from home against UiB's IT services, available to all employees and to students who use SAFE.

The service has been subjected to many attempts to breaking in. We must therefore restrict access so that you must first connect to VPN.

This measure prevents around 2 million break-in attempts daily, and minimize the risk of accounts being compromised and abused.
