KI 1322 Use your web browser for multi-factor authentication
If you can not use the Authenticator app or SMS, you may use a plugin in your web browser as authentication method.
You can use the "Authenticator" plugin for Chrome, Firefox, or Edge as a multi-factor authentication method. We recommend this as an emergency solution, primarily we recommend the Microsoft Authenticator app or SMS. Please see KI 0780 for more information.
Click extensions in the upper right corner of the Chrome window.
Click the Pin to the right of Authentication to have the extension attached so that it is visible at all times in the browser.
Log in to your Microsoft 365 account to set up Authenticator as a two-factor authentication method: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/
If you are not already logged in, log in now.
Select Security info > Add method
Select Autenticator app from the drop-down menu and click Add
click I want to use a different authenticator app and then Next (You will now get a QR code)
Retrieve the authentication extension in the browser
