KI 1411 How to configure Apple Mail (on Mac) to read your UiB e-mail

We primarily recommend using Outlook to read your UiB e-mail on your Mac. If you want to use Apple's Mail program, you may configure it as described here. (Note that this requires MacOS 10.14 or higher.)

Select Mail > Add Account
Velg account/service type Microsoft Exchange
When the system asks if you want to log on to your Exchange account with Microsoft , it detects that you have an e-mail account with username = your e-mail address. Thus the user name is filled in here.

For employees the username is firstname.lastname@uib.no, for students it is username@uib.no (eg. abc123@uib.no).

Click Log on
Enter your password:
Verify the logon request with the authenticator app:

Click Done:
You should now have access to your incoming e-mail. But to be able to send, you may have to select settings for outgoing e-mail too.
Go to Settings > UiB Exchange account, and select Outgoing Mail Account. Set this to UiB Exchange.
