KI 1413 How to configure the Mail app (on iPhone) to read your UiB e-mail

We primarily recommend using the Outlook app to read your UiB e-mail on your iPhone. If you want to use the iPhone's standard Mail app, you may configure it as described here. (Note that this requires iOS11 / iPadOS 13.1 or higher.)
  1. From the Home screen go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
  2. Select the option Microsoft Exchange.
  3. Enter the following information and then tap Next.
    • Email: your UiB e-mail address.
    • Description: Exchange is entered automatically (you can change this to eg. UiB if you wish).
  4. When prompted how to sign in to your Exchange account, tap Sign In. 
       
  5. Enter your user name and password and click Login.
  6. A two-factor authentication prompt will pop up. Select the method of authentication you prefer. A push notification is displayed below. 
  7. Click Continue at the Microsoft login screen.
  8. Turn the options to ON for the areas you'd like to sync (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes) and then tap Save.
  9. Your Exchange account now appears in Mail > Accounts. Tap Exchange (or the name of your Exchange account) to view the account settings.
  10. Important: Adjust the Mail Days to Sync according to your preferences. This setting means that only messages received within the timeframe you select appear in any of your folders.
  11. Tap your Account email address to view your Exchange account settings.
  12. Tap Advanced Settings and verify that Use SSL is turned ON. 
Your iPhone or iPad should automatically send and receive mail from your Office 365 account as well as sync to the Office 365 Contacts and Calendar.
