KI 1616 Register for a guest account

When you are invited to get a guest account at the University of Bergen, you must complete registration before the account can be used. Here's how to do it.

When a host has invited you to register for a guest account, you will receive an email like this:

NB! Please note that some email systems may sort this message as spam. Therefore, please check the spam folder if you have not received an expected invitation message.

You must click on the link in the message to complete the registration required before the guest account can be created.

You have to select from Log inn (FEIDE/ID-porten) or Manual registration.

Select Log inn (FEIDE/ID-porten) if you already have a Feide account affiliated with another organization, or if you are able to log in using ID-porten (BankID, MinID e.l.).
This is a simpler registration procedure and your guest account will automatically beactive once you have registered.
- Log in using Feide if you already have a Feide account affiliated with another organization that is authorized to use Gjenestejenesten at UiB.
- Log in using ID-porten (BankID, MinID) if you do not have a Feide account.
If you are attempting a Feide account from another institution and this does not work (because UiB has not authorized this to use Gjestetjenesten), please use ID-porten instead!
If you are not able to log in using Feide or ID-porten, you will have to select Manual registration and proceed to complete the registration. If you select this option, your host will need to approve the registration before the account will be created.

Registering with Feide

Select Log in (FEIDE/ID-porten) and then Feide login.

Log in using your Feide account (user name nad password).

You will see the contact information received from Feide.

You need to fill in your mobile phone number.
Click Next to proceed.

Answer yes or no to whether you want to be visible in searches on the UiB web site.
Then click Complete registration.

Your registration is completed.
Clicking Back to the front page will give this image:

Your guest account will now be created automaticqally.
you will receive an e-mail to your private e-mail account about activating your account.

Registering with ID-porten

If you do not have a Feide account, or your Feide account is at an institution not approved to use Gjestetjenesten at UiB, but you can log in with ID-porten (MinID, BankID etc.), select this option.

Select Login (FEIDE/IDporten) and then ID-porten login.

Select login method.
If you select BankID, you must also choose whether to use a password, code chip or BankID on mobile.

Log in in the usual way with the selected login method.

Your guest account will now be created automatically.
You will receive an email message to your private email address notifying you that you have to activate your account.

Manual registration

If you can use neither Feide nor ID-porten, you must use manual registration.

When you select the Manual registration option, you get the following image:

Here you must fill in your mobile number and identification either with National ID Number/D-number or passport nationality and -number.

Click Next when you have filled out the form.

Your host must now confirm your credentials and approve the registration before the guest account is created.
