KI 1866 Store the EndNote library locally on your computer

This describes the procedure for storing the EndNote library locally on your computer. EndNote works best when the library is stored on the machine you are working on, and it is strongly advised against storing it in a cloud service such as OneDrive, iCloud, or Dropbox.
There is always a risk associated with having files only locally on your computer as you risk losing your data if the computer breaks down, is stolen, etc. Therefore, we recommend that you sync the library with EndNote online to have an updated backup there. More information on that can be found here.

Procedure on Windows PCs
• Select New... from the File menu
• Type C: and press Enter
 • Then select the Temp folder and name you library

Procedure on Mac PCs
• Select New... from the File menu
• Navigate to a folder locally on your computer. Select a folder that is not on iCloud.
If you are unsure of what is on iCloud and what is not, you can choose to create a new folder locally on the hard drive.
