KI 2225 Service Interruption in IT Services on Saturday, November 18

The IT Department at UiB has made a significant investment of 12 million in new storage infrastructure that will be put into service this weekend. This upgrade requires reconstruction in our data hall, which unfortunately will result in temporary service interruptions.
These interruptions are planned for Saturday, November 18, and will affect certain services from 08:00 to 18:00.

User groups, that we know will be affected, are notified directly.

Please note that all IT services, including both wired and wireless network connections (eduroam and uib-guest), may experience periodic interruptions or instability during this period.

# SAFE down from Friday at 18:00 to Sunday at 08:00 (note - the time has changed)
The SAFE service will be stopped on Friday evening at 18:00. We expect that SAFE will be back in regular operation from 18:00 on Saturday. We advise against starting tasks in SAFE that are planned to run from Friday evening and onwards.

# Network in the BB-building down Saturday between 08:30 and 16:00
The network in 2,3,4,5 floors in the BB-building, Haukeland, will be periodically unavailable in the period 08:30 to 16:00. This applies to wired network and EduRoam.

# "Cinema tickets", “Fond & legater” down Saturday between 07-17
Due to migration of APEX, cinema tickets, “Fond & legater” etc. will be unavailable during this period.
