KI 0287 FAQ - Tredjepartsportalen (apps.uib.no)

Frequently asked questions about apps.uib.no.
  • I can't get apps.uib.no to work the first time I'm using it
    See instructions for first time use on KI 0322 Get started with Tredjepartsportalen (apps.uib.no).
  • I'm stuck on "Validation failed" or Verifying, and keep getting error messages in apps.uib.no (e.g. (eg. "<Browser> can't open"software2hub:// ...."), or am missing the AppsAnywhere client
    Log out and back in again, remember to let AppsAnywhere run in the browser.
    If that didn't work, log in to apps.uib.no in an incognito/private session in your browser and re-install the client. Follow the instructions for first time use on KI 0322 Get started with Tredjepartsportalen (apps.uib.no).
  • The application works on campus but not at home
    Applications that are licenced requires you to be on campus or use a VPN connection to UiB. These applications are tagged [Campus/VPN]. To set up a VPN connection to UiB on your own computer, see KI 0706 How do I connect to VPN?.
  • I get the error message "Application "Name of program" cannot be authorized and has been terminated"
    Open "Cloudpaging Player" (rightclick and click "Open Cloudpaging Player"). Find the program that has problems, click on it once and click remove. When the program is gone from the list, you can re-launch it from apps.uib.no.
  • I get the error message "Application "Name of program" has been terminated as it is no longer authorized and will be removed"
    The program is removed from Cloudpaging Player as it hasn't been used for a while. Start the program again from apps.uib.no.  
  • I get the error message "There is not enough cache space available to run the application "Name of program". 
    In Cloudpaging player, click File, Settings, Cache and either increase Desired Size or Clear Cache. 
  • I can't use/load files/data into my program
    Many programs may have challenges handling files that are stored in the cloud (e.g. OneDrive, Dropbox etc.). Try to make the file available on the compueter (e.g. 'Always keep on this device' in OneDrive when right-clicking on the file in explorer). Searching for information on how to resolve the issue at the supplier's of the software's documentation and or ask the course responsible. 
  • I am attempting to connect to Azure Virtual Desktop but get kicked out to the login screen again
    Connect in a different browser and or incognito mode
  • I get the error message "Error installing AVD Client" 
    This is due to that the AVD cannot be installed on older version of operating systems. Update your operating system on your device (if possible) and try again. 
  • ArcGIS Pro is not available on the virtual machine
    UiB has a dedicated virtual environment for ArcGIS Pro. Use the Virtual Machine "UiB-VM-GIS" not UiB-"VM".Â
