KI 0594 The printer says "Card not recognized" / "Log in to register card"

If you try to log in to a printer with an employee or student card and get the error message "Card not recognized" / "Log in to register card", your card is not registered with the system.
You can register your employee or student card by performing the following steps: 
  1. Tap your card on the card reader to get the message Card not recognized

       
  2. Enter your username (e.g. abcd1234, do not use @uib.no or similar) and press Next on the right of the keyboard. (If you don't kknow your username, please see KI 1942 What is my username?)

      
  3. Enter your password and press Log in to the right on the keyboard.

      
  4. Your card has now been registered and you may proceed by selecting the desired function.

       
  5. Press Log out or tap your card on the card reader again to log out.
