Guests get access to much the same IT services as emplopyees, but with a few notable differences.
A account comes with most of the services that employees receive, including
Access to log in to networks and PCs.
Personal storage space.
UiB e-mail address.
"Free" printing, ie these guests do not have to pay for copies themselves, but the cost is charged to their department.
Access to UiBhjelp on par with employees.
Possibility to get an access card. (Information is transferred to the access card system, but cards must be ordered by the department.)
What do guests not get?
For Microsoft 365, guests are assigned an A1 license. The main difference from employees is that the guests' license do not allow them to install full version of the traditional Office programs (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint). They can still use the web versions of these programs, and otherwise have full access to Teams, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online and more.
Guests do not have access to welfare benefits such as cottages and cinema tickets.
Guests do not automatically have the opportunity to log in to Berg-Hansen Travel Agency or Bibsys library system.
Some accesses depend on the type of guest in question (their guest role, eg whether they are an emeritus or an external sensor):
Typically, emeriti, guest researchers and guests registered as PhDs in FS will be displayed and have a personal page on www.uib.no, while consultants and external examiners will not.
Guests with an external sensor role will have access to log in to Inspera.
