KI 1879 Configuration change on UiB managed Windows PC (migration to OneDrive)

Due to the migration to OneDrive, the setup of your managed Windows PC has to be changed: OneDrive is set as default file location, and your Windows home directory will no longer be mapped. If you are using a managed Windows laptop, the Offline Files synchronization of your home directory will stop.

The configuration of Mac and Linux clients will not be changed.

You will receive an email, usually during the evening, once your Windows home directory has become read-only, also mentioning to restart your UiB managed Windows PC. That is when the configuration has to be changed.

To change the configuration you will have to re-login to your PC, while it is connected to the UiB network.

The most convenient way would be to restart your PC on the UiB campus network (either cable or wireless).

If you have your machine at home or away, it is still possible to commit the change:

Reboot your PC or just log off.
Make sure the PC is online, wireless or by cable, while it shows the logon screen.
Use VPN network sign-in to log on to the PC as shown in KI 0491.
