KI 2635 Network Down in Nygårdsgaten 5 (NG5), Thursday Afternoon

As part of the IT security initiative, the IT department will reconfigure the network in NG5 on Thursday, 31/10-24 after working hours from around 17:00. Until quite late that evening, you should expect that there will be NO network available in the building. Work from home, use mobile data, or find another building to work in that evening.

On the morning of November 1st, some PCs and printers may need a restart to function. If you have problems, try that first.

If you manage your personal computer yourself, think carefully. It will no longer have access to wired internet, and over time, some access to services will also be reduced from the wireless network. Stop by the BRITA bar on the 3rd floor with your computer and get advice and help on how to become client-managed.
If your centrally managed Macintosh does not have the software “Firmaportal” installed and easily visible in the applications folder, it needs a small upgrade to get online on November 1st and beyond. Stop by the BRITA bar with your computer and get help with a small upgrade. It is not just about installing this program; it requires a slightly more comprehensive reconfiguration that takes about an hour.
