KI 0382 LAB-IT - Solution for Stand-Alone/unmanaged Lab-PC/Equipment

Solution for Stand-alone/unmanaged Lab-PC/Equipment (equipment that is not managed/supported by the IT-department). This solution is only meant for UiB-owned, stand-alone computers connected to an instrument used in research, where there is a need for network, datastorage/backup and remote access.

Standard functionality:

- Stand-alone/unmanaged Lab-PC/Equipment is placed on a limited network where all traffic to/from the equipment is blocked. If needed, Lab-IT can create specific openings to allow traffic to UiB/Internet.

Optional functionality:
- Each research group get a dedicated storage area. (1TB storage capacity free of charge, with the option to expand against payment. Standard UiB Backup of Lab-IT storage area).
- Automatic copy of raw data from Lab-PC to centralized Lab-IT storage area (optional functionality).
- Remote Access to Lab-PC/Equipment via Terminal Server or third party software (beta)
- Self service access management, where lab-administrator(s) can delegate access.
