KI 1863 How to resolve sync conflicts in Offline Files

This applies to UoB managed Windows laptop PCs. It is required that the PC is connected to UiB's network, either with a cable or with a wireless network. If you are outside campus, you can use VPN, please see KI 0560 Connect to VPN from UiB PC with Windows 10 for more information.
Files you create while your laptop is in use outside UiB's network will only be stored on the computer's hard drive. To synchronize them to UiB's storage servers, you must use synchronization (Sync Center).

Perform synchronization
1. Open Sync Center by double-clicking the green icon with two rotating arrows on the task bar. You may anso search for Sync Center from the Start menu.

2. In Sync Center, click the Sync All button,  and allow the process to complete.

Resolve conflicts
1. In Sync Center click View sync conflicts.

2. Files with a sync conflict will be listed. If they are, it means the copies on your PC are more recent than the corresponding file stored on the server.
Select the files whose sync colflicts you want to resolve.

3. The system will ask you whether you want to keep the most recent version of the file you worked on. If you only have used the files on your laptop, select Keep this version and copy it to the other location.

Note that Delete the version in both locations will delete your file both from the laptop and from the server location.
