KI 2530 Adding and editing citations (under construction)

Part of the user guide for the reading list system Leganto
Citations can be imported in different ways, and you can easily edit them after they have been added to the list (KI 2543).

Always start by searching the library system. Click 'Add' and 'Search the library' to open the search box.

The search box will open in a separate pane to the right. Search for eg. title, author or ISBN, or go to the advanced search.

Many publications will have a link for 'Additional' version available'. Click on this to view the different versions and editions. Make sure you choose the right:
  • reference type (article, book, book chapter etc.)
  • edition (year and edition)
  • format (digital or print)

If you find the citation you are looking for, you can drag and drop it into the right section.

You can also click on the citation and then choose which section you want to add it to.

If you only want to register one chapter/excerpt from a book, you can (KI 2535). Note that excerpts from books and journals that are not available online, can be digitized for Litteraturkiosken (KI xxxx).

If you cannot find the reference you need in our collections, you can change the search scope to 'Norwegian Academic Libraries' from the list as illustrated here:

If you do not find the book in the system at all, you can import it from an external page (KI 2542), from a reference management system (KI 2541), or enter it manually (KI 2495).

You can also add citations from previously saved citations (KI 2547).
